A man was left hospitalised after an assault which led to the victim’s personal items being taken.

Police were called to Jubilee Way South in Mansfield at around 4.10pm yesterday afternoon after man was reported to have suffered head injuries.

It is thought that the man had been attacked by two women and a man who hit him with glass bottles before taking some of his personal items including his wallet.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone who may have information on the incident to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Matt Scott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a violent attack that has left a man hospitalised and we will be investigating this incident thoroughly.

“Whenever violence is used there is always the chance for serious consequences and we are working hard to establish what happened.

“It is totally unacceptable that someone would do this but as the incident is reported to have happened in broad daylight, we think that people may have seen or heard something that could help our investigation.

“If you were in the area at the time and witnessed something suspicious, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, please do not hesitate to contact us.”

Anyone with any information should contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 552 of 19 July 2021.
