A man reportedly threatened to kill a woman and tried to kick down her door whilst she hid inside.

The victim feared for her safety when the man, who was known to her, arrived at her Nottingham home and allegedly said he was going to kill her.

The woman locked the doors, before running upstairs to hide.

Meanwhile, the man went to the front of the property and started kicking the front door.

The police were called and officers were on the scene within minutes.

The 29-year-old suspect was nowhere to be seen but officers soon found him and he was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill. He remains in custody.

The incident happened in Causeway Mews, The Meadows, at around 2.45pm on Sunday (18 July).

Detective Sergeant Paul Clark, of Nottinghamshire Police’s public protection team, said: “This was an exceptionally frightening experience for the victim.

“Anyone who makes violent threats towards another person can expect a robust response from police – and that is what happened in this case.

“Officers were very quickly on the scene and swiftly made an arrest.

“The suspect is known to the victim and there was no wider threat to the local community.”
