Police Authority Announces New Interim Chief Executive Team
Nottinghamshire Police Authority has announced the appointment of an
Interim Chief Executive Team. Joint
(Interim) Chief Executives, Ishkan Robinson and Richard Hodge, invested by
Nottinghamshire County Council, joined the Police Authority Secretariat from
their roles within the County Council with effect from 14th December
2009.
The move highlights the wholehearted commitment of the Police Authority,
the County Council, the City Council and the Police Force to ensure that the
resources are in place to meet future community safety challenges, reduce crime
and increase public satisfaction.
In addition, the County Council has offered the Authority new
accommodation within County Hall, which is more suitable for the Authority’s
needs in the future than the current premises.
John Clarke, Chair of the Police Authority, welcomed both new members
of the team and the support of local Authority partners saying: “This is real partnership working with
everyone pulling together. These
appointments show the County Council, the City Council, the Police Authority
and the Force working collectively at the highest possible level to ensure that
we can meet the challenges ahead.
“I would particularly like to thank the County Council whose support
and investment has been enormously helpful.
“We have put in place two experienced officers as joint Chief Executives
who will build on the development work that has already begun and help us resolve
the issues that we currently face on behalf of our communities, whose safety
and satisfaction is our absolute priority.
“The Authority is grateful for the swift support that has been extended
from all its partners and we look forward to working with this strengthened
team which will give us greater resilience in the months to come.”
Councillor Kay Cutts, Leader of Nottinghamshire County Council, added: “We have taken decisive action to deal with
some of the issues recently raised. Two County Council officers will become
joint Chief Executives of the Police Authority and we have worked with the
Police Authority this week to find new accommodation for them at County Hall.
“The safety of Nottinghamshire’s residents is our priority and Nottinghamshire
Police are the key to that priority. We have our part to play and feel it is
important to maintain strong links.
“Nottinghamshire Police Authority is a lead partner in tackling crime and
community safety and we will play our part in helping them to deliver the safe
communities that the people of Nottinghamshire deserve.
“We are very proud to be the home of the Police Authority and hope they will be
happy in their new accommodation and remain here for many years to come.”
Alan Given QPM, Chief Executive Nottingham Crime and Drugs Partnership, went on to say: “We are very grateful for the support we receive from Nottinghamshire Police Authority. We understand that changes being made now will improve things further and we welcome them. Our experience of working with them is very good and we hope this continues.”
