Search begins for New Deputy Chief Constable

Nottinghamshire Police Authority has commenced its search for a new Deputy Chief Constable to take over from the current post-holder when he steps down in July this year.

The Authority is seeking an inspirational leader with a proven track record in performance delivery, who is experienced in change management and who can meet the challenges facing policing in Nottinghamshire.

An advertisement will appear in the police press this week and the closing date for applications is 18th February 2010.  The Police Authority will interview prospective candidates on 21st and 22nd April, 2010.

Chair of the Police Authority, John Clarke, said:  "We are looking for someone with the ability to do the job, who understands the challenges policing can bring and who is committed to working with the other members of the senior officer team and the Police Authority to deliver some significant performance improvements."

The salary for the post is set at national level by the Police Negotiating Board.
