Kimberley Police Station Remains Open

Posted on 13th July 2010

Members of Nottinghamshire Police Authority have received written confirmation from Nottinghamshire Police that contrary to some local reporting Kimberley police station has not been closed.

Speaking on behalf of the Police Authority, Cllr Eric Kerry said,

"The Division are moving Neighbourhood staff to work from another location as part of their drive to improve performance, however the Kimberley police station remains open with public contact facilities still operating.

"In the medium term the Authority and Force must make significant annual budget savings. The Chief Constable has yet to make her final budgetary recommendations at which point these will be considered by Authority Members, who are fully committed to including stakeholders and communities in any funding decisions that may have a significant impact on their communities."
