Update: Sutton in Ashfield collision

Nottinghamshire Police were called to reports of a serious crash in Station Road, Sutton in Ashfield at around 2pm yesterday (9 August 2017).

Officers attended a collision between a car and a cyclist. Sadly, a 23-year-old man died at the scene. An investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the incident.

Station Road remained closed in both directions at the junction with the A38 for some time to allow officers to make inquiries. We would like to thank the public for their understanding in this matter.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation.
