Teenager locked up for knife possession

An 18-year-old man has been locked up for 146 days after admitting two weapon possession charges.

Reece Richardson, 18, of Stockbrook Street, Derby, pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday (3 August).

Officers stopped him in Highhurst Street, Radford, on Wednesday 2 August in possession of a kitchen knife and a knife sharpener. He was sentenced to 146 days in custody for each offence, but they will run concurrently.

Another 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and charged with possession of an offensive weapon. Lennox Natabus, of Grosvenor Street, Derby, is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Friday 18 August.
