Update: Eight men charged in connection with football disorder

Eight men have now been charged in connection with public order offences on the day of a Notts County home match against Mansfield Town.

The disorder happened on the afternoon of 14 January 2017 at the Major Oak pub in Victoria Street, Nottingham city centre.

The men were arrested yesterday (Thursday 18 May) and later charged.

Aeron Collier, 24, of Teignmouth Avenue, Mansfield, Daniel Fretwell, 20, of Longbourne Court, Forest Town, Lee Haywood, 25, North Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Thomas McCormack, 18, of The Rodery, Mansfield, Phillip Merryweather, 56, of The Quadrangle, Newstead, and Gregg Robbins, 44, of Markham Place, Mansfield, are due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 2 June.

Connor Slaney, 18, of Forest Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Tony Wright, 43, of Cardale Road, Pleasley, will appear at the same court on 5 June.

Officers today (Friday 19 May) also arrested a ninth man, a 21-year-old, in connection with the incident.
