A man has been remanded in custody after a shop security guard was left with serious injuries when he tried to prevent a theft in Sneinton.
Police were called to a store off Daleside Road at around 11.45am on Sunday (7 May 2017).
A security guard had tried to stop a car after he believed a theft had taken place, however it swerved throwing him off and into a nearby parked vehicle. He was taken to Queens Medical Centre where he is currently being treated for a number of injuries.
The car was located two hours later through automatic number plate recognition and Sean Mulligan of Flewitt Gardens in Nottingham was arrested and charged with dangerous driving with intent to cause serious injury and shop theft.
The 42-year-old appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court yesterday (Tuesday 9 May 2017) and was remanded to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday 30 May.
