A 22-year-old man is due before Nottingham magistrates today in connection with two assaults in The Meadows.

James Dore, of Agnes Street, Grantham, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm, common assault and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

A man suffered a stab injury in the first incident in the Tarbert Close/Bosworth Walk area and another man suffered head injuries in the second incident in Manifold Gardens. Both assaults happened on 21 May.

Detective Inspector Ed Cook said: "Nottinghamshire Police continues to tackle knife crime and treats violence as one of its top priorities. We are working hard with partners and the community to increase public safety through education and enforcement. As part of Nottinghamshire's community, the police stand together with local people in the belief that there is no place for violence in our county."

101 is the number to call when you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police and it’s less urgent than a 999 call. Calls cost 15p, no matter how long the call lasts.
