A 31-year old man has died following an incident in the Talbot Street area of Nottingham city centre earlier today (Sunday 7 January 2018).

Nottinghamshire Police were called just before 12noon to reports of concerns for the man's safety, which they responded to alongside colleagues from the East Midlands Ambulance Service.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after officers arrived. His death is not currently being treated as suspicious.

A number of roads in the Talbot Street area of the city which had been closed following the incident are expected to re-open shortly.

A file is being prepared for the Coroner in relation to the man's death and officers are offering support to the man’s family following the incident.

101 is the number to call when you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police and it’s less urgent than a 999 call. Calls cost 15p, no matter how long the call lasts.
