Man charged in connection with £3.5 million cannabis grow

Mohammed Qamar Zaman, 35, of St Georges Place, Elizabeth Street, Bradford, was arrested in Bradford on 8 March.

He now faces the following nine charges; kidnap, production of cannabis, holding a person for slavery, forcing a person to perform compulsory labour, facilitating travel of a person with a view for exploitation, false imprisonment, theft of a motor vehicle, witness intimidation and abstracting electricity.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 9 March and was remanded. He is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 6 April 2018.

Officers gained entry to Palmerston House, Mount Street on 7 August 2017 and found a large £3.5 million cannabis factory inside.
